The Constitution of India was implemented in the year 1950 . The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on 26 November 1949 to become an independent republic and establish the rule of law in the country. The constitution was implemented on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system. Means after 2 years 11 months 18 days the constitution was implemented. India was declared a full republic on this day. For information, let us tell you that India’s Independence Day was celebrated for the first time on this day. Till independence on 15 August 1947, Independence Day was celebrated only on 26 January. The Constitution was implemented on 26 January 1950 and Republic Day was declared to give importance to the date of declaring Purna Swaraj on 26 January 1930. 

After the adoption of the Constitution by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, it came into force on 26 January 1950. The date was chosen because it coincided with Poorna Swaraj Day. When the Indian National Congress declared complete independence in protest against British rule. The announcement was made at the historic annual session of the Congress in Lahore (now Pakistan). Jawaharlal Nehru was appointed President of the Congress to take over from his father, Motilal Nehru, who supported a new Dominion status constitution for India. Jawaharlal Nehru rejected his father’s offer and argued for complete separation from British rule.

He was supported by leaders like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Subhash Chandra Bose, Aurobindo and Bipin Chandra Pal. The resolution was passed and the Congress fixed the last Sunday of January 1930 for Purna Swaraj. After independence this important date could not be missed. That’s why 26th was marked to celebrate this day.

Not only Delhi, but people from outside Delhi also reach to see the Republic Day parade held every year on  Kartvyapath in Delhi. In such a situation, preparations are going on for the army personnel in Delhi for the Republic Day parade. In the morning, when nothing is visible even for 20 meters, at that time many contingents participating in the parade get involved in their preparations. Even though the temperature of Delhi remains low due to fog and cold, but the enthusiasm of the soldiers always remains high.  The soldiers arrive here early in the morning with their respective continents and after that, the parade practice begins. Preparations for the upcoming ceremony are going on in full swing. Parade Practice is going on at Vijay Chowk, where soldiers can be seen rehearsing in the bitter cold.
