After many reforms and changes, 308 members of the committee signed two copies of the handwritten law on 24 January, after which this constitution was implemented in the country on 26 January. The Government of India Act (1935), a British law before the Constitution came into force, was replaced by the Indian Constitution as the governing document of India.
